Ban Mai
I went to Ban Mai because it was the number 1 restaurant on tripadvisor in Phitsanulok. There weren’t many restaurants in Phitsanulok online, but I wanted to give it a try anyway. As it was on number 1, it should be at least fine.
When I read it was a bit difficult to find and that the location of it was diagonally opposite Ayara Grand Palace Hotel Phitsanulok I had to go there as it was the hotel I was staying at. It was meant to be.
The interior reminded me of my Thai grandmother’s home. My grandmother in Belgium has a much more modern home interior. But don’t let that mislead you. There food is exquisite. My husband, his friend and I ordered 5 dishes and fried rice. Every single one of them was delicious!
Sometimes there are things I would change about dishes I eat in restaurants, but not here. Everything was perfect! The pork neck salad was the best one I’ve ever ate in Thailand. I strongly recommend that!
Our waitress spoke English and did understand us, so don’t let that hold you back.
Number one in Phitsanulok, a well deserved ranking I think!
