Wat Pha Sorn Kaew

Wat Pha Sorn Kaew banner Wat Pha Sorn Kaew is a temple in Khao Kor in the province Phetchabun. It was absolutely by far the most beautiful temple I’ve ever seen. I don’t know if any temple ever can top this one.

Let me start by saying it is literally located at the top of a mountain surrounded by other mountains. Arriving at the temple you will look upon a jaw-dropping view. The location itself is breath taking. But that’s not the only thing, the temple is decorated with more than 5 million colorful mosaic tiles and whole pottery items.

And if all that is still not enough to knock you off your socks, there also is a beautiful garden with a stained glass garden pavilion.

The most impressive to me is the 5 Buddhas statue.

You can sit in the garden or go up the stairs to look down to the mosaic tiles or enjoy the amazing view. There is beauty everywhere you’ll look. I think I was there for about 2 hours and I still feel like I haven’t seen everything.

There are many entrances to the temple, make sure to remember where you came from as you have to take off your shoes. You’ll be walking barefoot the whole entire time. You are allowed to wear socks.

The gate of Wat Pha Sorn Kaew is opened from 6:00 until 18:00.

The entrance is free.

Please be reminded that you should wear proper clothing to a temple.

You can only visit the temple with a private car/taxi or a tour guide, as there is no public transport to Wat Pha Sorn Kaew.
