Annual long-tail boat race

long-tail boat race-banner Every year there is a long-tail boat race for the His Majesty’s Trophy around the end of the Buddhist Lent, at the end of september or the beginning of october, on the Chao Phraya River in Nakhon Sawan. People from all around the province compete for the His Majesty’s Trophy with their long-tail boat.

Long-tail boat in Thai is literally translated ruea-hang-yao (เรือหางยาว). The contestants sit in a longtail-boat behind each other and compete on a 500 m lane.

OTOP-Nakhon-Sawan

There is no Thai event without food stalls ofcourse. There are a hole bunch of food stalls all around the area. If you are satisfied and saw enough boat races, you can take a look around in the OTOP stalls (One Tambon One Product).
